Absentee Request

The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail or register for November 2, 2021, General & Special Elections is 5:00 p.m., Friday, October 22nd.

Absentee Voting

Absentee voting by mail and in person for the November 2, 2021 General & Special Elections will begin on  Friday, September 17th.

Norfolk City Hall will be open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. beginning Friday, September 17th and will also be available Saturday, October 23rd and October 30th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The deadline to vote absentee in person is 5:00 p.m., Saturday October 30th  


Location: 810 Union Street, First Floor

Early In-Person

Four voter satellite offices will be open for early absentee voting Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays beginning Wednesday, October 13th ending Thursday, October 28th.  They are:

  1. Berkley Recreation Center, 121 W. Liberty Street

  2. Jordan-Newby Library, 1425 Norchester Avenue

  3. Lambert's Point Community Center, 1251 W. 42nd Street

  4. Mary D. Pretlow Anchor Branch Library, 111 W. Ocean View Avenue

The hours are as follows:

  • Wednesdays 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • Thursdays 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

  • Fridays 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • Sundays 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.


Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, November 2nd.
