WHAT I AM DOING NOW

Currently, a social entrepreneur, Jackie consults with businesses, organizations, and governments to recognize and improve markets and policies influenced by racism, sexism, and classism. Jackie oversees the operations and creative direction of the Your Neighbor’s Hood- a podcast for uncomfortable culture conversation specifically about race, Mamas on the Block (MOB)- a civic action organization for mothering women, The Mayher- a podcast that normalizes women in local leadership, the way they live and legislate.

She is successfully leading the Norfolk 2045 and Just Dinner campaigns influencing a person-by-person change in cross-cultural relationships and affording people the opportunity to confront their bias. Jackie develops strategic methods for transforming parental leadership into an enabler of innovation for economic growth while promoting an in-home “civics first” mentality so that every citizen’s actions support a truly global city.

MISSION STATEMENT

Manage Expectations

Jackie is unabashedly working with everyday people in our city especially women and families. While some localities have flagged the impacts on women and families, these concerns are not yet shaping the decisions that our leaders are making knowing that COVID-19 is hitting women and families the hardest. She vows to change that.

Jackie is committed to creatively problem solve and be an accountable leader that can relate to the current struggles of the average Norfolk resident because we need solutions that match the size of our problems. She wants to build a relationship with you from a place of empathy and respect.  To truly make strides, Jackie needs to be able to manage our expectations. That can only happen if she knows yours.
