NORMALIZING THE ABCs OF LOCAL GOVERNING:
Equity is possible in our city.
Before the pandemic, our city was grappling with inequitable development, deprivation of resources in non-wealthy communities, lack of engagement and transparency with residents across the city.
What's changed? Us. Now, more than ever, we realize that no matter where you call home, we are all neighbors. Our City is stronger than ever because of us.
We must move forward with a sense of urgency to disrupt governance that provides space for racism, sexism, classism, and ableism. Equity is possible in our city. We have to choose it.
FULL-TIME LEADER FOR OUR
A Message from Jackie
It is undeniable. There is no city like Norfolk in Hampton Roads. The culture. The people. The feel is just right. It makes me wonder, why so many people want to call Norfolk home but don't? Why are families choosing to raise their little citizens elsewhere?
It's no secret. Our schools, neighborhoods, and elected leadership are plagued with negative perceptions rooted in truth and falsehoods. But, perception is reality.
The reality is that we all want affordable housing and safe communities. We want our little citizens to attend superior schools and daycares. We want our favorite local businesses and our neighbors that choose to call America home to see and feel success in our city.
I am running to bring bold leadership that welcomes and responds to accountability. I understand that our full-time problems need full-time support. Together, we can recover from this crisis stronger than ever— a new Norfolk that values Superward 7 constituents in words and deeds. It would be my pleasure to serve you and an honor to have your vote,
Jackie recognizes that without trust there is no progress. She knows trust is the goal and foundation of collaborative governing, and it must be built and earned from the ground up.
